Dr. Michael Lenarz practices at Health First Chiropractic, in Seattle, and in Sedro-Woolley, WA. He has been in practice for over 30 years. The primary focus of his care is utilizing a technique known as Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic. This technique is designed to balance the spine and promote health with precise and gentle adjusting. It is a powerful healing modality. Michael is certified at the Advanced Instructor Level by the Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic Society.
Dr. Lenarz authored, The Chiropractic Way, (Bantam Books, 2003). This was the first introductory book about chiropractic, produced by a major publisher, in the history of the chiropractic profession.
He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 1987 and he completed the Blair Chiropractic Primary and Advanced Trainer Certification in 2007. He was chosen as Chiropractor of the Year for the Blair Society in 2003. He was also awarded Chiropractor of the Year from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 2012.
Dr. Lenarz is founder of The Seattle Upper Cervical Research Institute, and Health First Chiropractic, with four offices throughout Washington State.
Dr. Lenarz serves on the Board of Directors of the Blair Upper Cervical Society, and is a member of the Washington State Chiropractic Association, Sherman College of Chiropractic Alumni Association, and Sherman College Board of Regents. He is past Chairman of Sherman College Board of Trustees.
He received the B. J. Palmer Philosophical Distinction Award at his Sherman graduation.

Sheila Neill grew up in Gillette, Wyoming. She moved to Washington in 1991 to be closer to family. Sheila started working for Health First Chiropractic in 1999 at the Sedro-Woolley office. Her favorite part of the job is interacting with the practice members. Her hobbies include playing with her granddaughter Alice, snowmobiling, and boating. She also enjoys her horses and dogs.

Mary Estes grew up in Central Mississippi. She earned her BS in Psychology from Judson College in Alabama, and is a certified, Full-Spectrum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Lactation Counselor. She loves to travel and has lived in various places around the world with her family, finally planting roots in Sedro Woolley in 2015. Her favorite hobbies include gardening, sewing, crafting, dancing, reading, and learning new things. She joined the Sedro Woolley Health 1st team in 2018, and enjoys meeting and getting to know the practice members.

Dr. Michael Carter completed his chiropractic training in 1982, Valedictorian of his class and Magna Cum Laude from Sherman College of Chiropractic. Throughout his chiropractic career he has maintained a passion for whole food nutrition. He served as consultant to health care professionals at Standard Process, teaching practitioners “The Foundations of Nutritional Therapy.” Dr. Carter continues to serve as an active member of the advisory board for the International Foundation for Nutrition and Health and has done so for 25 years. He is working with “The International Foundation for Nutrition and Health,” as an instructor, study group leader and facilitator; as well as revising a nutritional manual for healthcare professionals. He recently attended the 1st International Conference on Fasting held at the University of Southern California Medical School and earned a Certificate on Fasting while at the conference.
Dr. Carter was first introduced to Blair analysis and adjusting while at Sherman College. He believes that the foundation of anybody’s healthcare is having quality upper cervical chiropractic care. Nutritional therapy adds to this strong foundation to help patients on their journey towards health and wellness.
Dr. Carter will be primarily providing nutritional services for Health First Chiropractic applying principles of Foundational Nutrition and Lifestyle to compliment chiropractic care to help patients on their journey to health and wellness. Foundational Nutrition focuses on six key areas: Digestion, Sugar Handling (body’s ability to handle sugar, in whatever form), Liver/Biliary issues (Detoxification), Support for Musculoskeletal System, Immune and Allergies and Endocrine Balance. By addressing these Foundational issues patients have experienced increased energy, weight control and loss, stabilize blood sugar levels, more resistant to colds and flu.
